After getting in her brother’s red Mercedes, Amy headed to The Sikh Gurdwara in San Jose.

With the bride hidden out of sight and the groom limo arriving on the premises, the crowd gathers in anticipation. Happy walks out of the limo, and joined by his family walks towards the Main Hall where Amy’s family is waiting. His face is covered, so it’s difficult to guess what he’s feeling in these moments just before the two families meet.

This is the priest.

When Amy came out to meet him, the joy on their faces removed all mystery.

Once the meeting of the families was over, Amy and her bridesmaids headed back to the Lady’s Lounge. The next time people saw her, she was walking down the aisle.

After the ceremony, the friends and family of the bride and groom, came up to congratulate and take photos with the newlyweds. Afterwards, I had only 20 or so minutes to photograph them together. It was a great way to end my day with them.

Happy and Amy, thank you for the opportunity to share in your joy. It was a real pleasure working with you and your family!

There are many wonderful photos that I’d like to show off, so I’m going to break this wedding into two parts. This post will focus on Amy’s morning preparations, with the next one moving on to the ceremony and the quick post-ceremony shoot.

I arrived at Amy’s house at 7 in the morning, the earliest I’ve ever started in my career as a wedding photographer. I found the house alive with energy and fully dressed friends and family. Amy was upstairs and well into the getting ready process. The room was beautifully prepared with a large framed mirror and draped fabrics. The wall behind the mirror was covered in rich deep-blue fabric and served as a perfect background, making amazing photos possible. Everything in that room was created to help make beautiful photos possible.

A big thank you to Jaskaran Samra who did an awesome job with Amy’s hair and make up. I hope we’ll get to work together again.

A first look was setup where they go to see each other for the first time. They looked so happy and beautiful!

After some further preparations, we grabbed a golf cart and headed out to Hole #2, where beautiful boulders and amazing light created a perfect and romantic environment for their photos together. For the record, Boulder Ridge Golf Club is a beautiful location!

We started our day at The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. It first opened its doors in 1904 and quickly became the social center of San Francisco’s elite. We’re proud to share a few photos that show off its class and grandeur.

This is officially the largest photograph you’ll find on this website, and I’m very proud of it. For you photographers our there, this was captured at 1/80 of a second, f/2.0, and 1250 ISO. An on-camera flash was used to light the scene, bouncing off a white marble column to my left.

A quick note of thanks to my friend Steve, who stepped in to help me photograph the day. It was a pleasure! Thanks for capturing Jerry’s anticipation. Check him… looking at his watch. =0)

They had a beautiful and touching outdoor ceremony. The reception was just as warm as their vows to each other. We will let the photos tell you the rest.
