Happy and Amy {A San Francisco Engagement}

Meeting and photographing Happy and Amy was one of those spur of the moment opportunities that drop into your lap unexpectedly and expand your horizons more than you could have imagined. Not since my beautiful wife’s brial shoot, back when my business was in its infancy, did I have an opportunity to photograph anyone clad in traditional Indian outfits. Happy and Amy’s engagement, and their wedding (just wait till you see that!), were the opportunity I’ve been dying for.

They walk with an air of confidence, and speak with kindness in their voice. It was so refreshing! Working with them was easy and fun. So without further adieu…

Jerry and Christina {Married}

You may remember Christina and Jerry from their romantic San Francisco Engagement photoshoot. Their wedding took place on 10/10/2010, which should make it very easy for Jerry to remember their anniversary.

We started our day at The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. It first opened its doors in 1904 and quickly became the social center of San Francisco’s elite. We’re proud to share a few photos that show off its class and grandeur.

This is officially the largest photograph you’ll find on this website, and I’m very proud of it. For you photographers our there, this was captured at 1/80 of a second, f/2.0, and 1250 ISO. An on-camera flash was used to light the scene, bouncing off a white marble column to my left.

A quick note of thanks to my friend Steve, who stepped in to help me photograph the day. It was a pleasure! Thanks for capturing Jerry’s anticipation. Check him… looking at his watch. =0)

They had a beautiful and touching outdoor ceremony. The reception was just as warm as their vows to each other. We will let the photos tell you the rest.

Christina & Jerry {Engaged in San Francisco}

I met Christina and Jerry at the Caffe Greco. It was my first time at this cafe, and it felt genuinely “San Francisco” – vintage posters, sliding windows, great lattes, and sweet deserts. We talked about how they met and shared our relationship theories. We started the engagement shoot by taking a few photos inside and out of the cafe, where I bravely risked my life for art by shooting from the road. =0)

On the way to the cable cars we took advantage of every bench and flower-kissed brick wall. Christina and Jerry were a little shy, but did a great job despite all the people walking by. The cold air did not let us forget that we’re in San Francisco.

More than anything, Christina wanted photos with the Golden Gate bridge in the background. With her help, we found just the spot she had in mind! Jerry and I did our best to lift the fog off the bridge…

A great time was had by all. =0)

Mitch and Natalie {Engaged in San Francisco}

It’s been waaaaay too long since we spent some quality time at the Golden Gate park in San Francisco. It is such a beautiful park. It’s liveliness reminded me of Central Park, back in NY, where I have to admit I didn’t spend enough time either. When we got there, Mitch and Natalie were romancing on the stairs in front of the Conservatory of Flowers, where their engagement session was about to commence. Their love and affection for each other shined through every step of the way. One of many benefits of this “job” is watching your own love grow in the presence of the love of others.

The “cherry on top” was Mitch’s BMW from 1970-something. Newly remodeled, it is a sight to behold, I tell you. The following images were edited to add to the vintage feel of the machine, and the timelessness of love.

Lena and Mike’s Engagement

The weather in San Francisco was unreal today! Lena and Mike took us to Ti Couz, where coffee and crepes rule. Afterwords we headed to Balmy street, where we spent the first half of our shoot. Could not have asked for better scenery!

Back on their porch, Mike and Lena introduced us to their two adorable ferrets.

We had a wonderful day! We look forward to the wedding!
